AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco (American professional soccer player) is striker. She also captains San Diego Wave FC of National Women's Soccer League, the top division of women's soccer in United States. From 2018 until 2020, she was a co-captain of the women's soccer national team with Megan Rapinoe. [8][9] Shortly after graduating early from the University of California, Berkeley where she was a player with the California Golden Bears, Morgan was chosen as the number one overall pick in the 2011 WPS Draft by the Western New York Flash. Morgan made her professional debut there and was instrumental in the team's winning the league championship. Morgan was 22 when she was picked to play for the national team in the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011 which they won in second place. She scored the match-winning goal in the semi-final match against Canada in the semi-final game at the 2012 London Olympics. The 2012 season ended with 21 and 28 goals. assists along with Mia Hamm as the only American woman to score 20 goals and provide 20 assists in the same year, becoming the sixth the youngest U.S. player to score 20 goals in one season. She was named U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year and was the FIFA World Player of the The Year finalist. Morgan has also played a role in helping the United States win their titles at the 2015 and the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cups, in which she was selected to the Dream Team for both tournaments and also won the Silver Boot in 2019.
